]]>

Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc. has released its UHF active RFID tags (GAO137004). The high-performance and power-efficient active RFID tag is designed for collecting highly accurate, real-time data for identification, tracking and localization. The tag with 8000bytes expandable memory can be used as an electronic packing slip or as an electronic shop traveler.

GAO’s UHF active RFID tag conveys data at distance of up to 100 feet from a handheld device or up to 300 feet from a fixed interrogator. The UHF operating frequency allows low-power, long communication and high data transmission rates with minimal interference due to local conditions. Its outstanding anti-collision multi-tag-handling algorithm provides clear communication to a large number of tags tracking of assets or people. In addition, it is equipped with an optional LED and an optional sensor, which enable temperature monitoring.

About GAO RFID Inc.

Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc. recommends its advanced 433MHz active RFID reader (GAO214014) with a USB interface. This reader incorporates a standard USB cable for connection to any standard USB port for data transmission and power supply. It also operates as a plug and play device.

GAO’s active RFID reader works in conjunction with GAO’s active RFID tags and includes software that allows users to select and monitor many RFID tags or only one. The reader’s gain can be adjusted from high to low dynamically via software. In stand-alone mode, the RSSI (received signal strength indication) setting is set dynamically via software to control the read range of the reader. This active reader also allows for upload of data in real time or data buffering for later retrieval.

Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc.(www.GAORFID.com) has announced the release of its 433MHz active RFID tag which is an ideal tool for access control and tracking of assets and personnel. The “Jumbo” tag contains an LED and buzzer to conveniently find tagged items or alert tag wearers.

This low power consuming RFID tag, model 127008, comes with several options including operating frequency, a bracket, LED, buzzer, and user memory. It operates at dual-frequencies to receive and transmit tag data allowing for fast and reliable communications. The UHF RFID tag automatically wakes up on receiving a command from an RFID reader and then transmits its ID and other information. Using a unique anti-collision algorithm, the tag ensures all tag data will be received even when many tags are transmitting simultaneously. With an optional bracket, the RFID tag can be mounted to any asset with a flat surface, and it can also be easily attached to items via the slotted hole near one of its ends.

Passive RFID Tags Vs. Active RFID Tags

An RFID tag is a small device that can be attached to or incorporated into a product and transmit data to a reader using radio waves. RFID tags have antennas that allow them to receive and respond to radio-frequency queries from an RFID transceiver. This article discusses various differences between two types of tags — active and passive — that may influence your decision to choose one type over the other when deploying your RFID application.
